Danish model (Kudsk et al., 2018; Möhring et al., 20191 ).
First, two datasets are set up:
Data on active substances and standard dosages per product has to be obtained from the official register of plant protection products or from producer information.
Data on toxicity, fate and human health effects of the active substances and products are available (on license) from the Pesticide Properties Data Base (https://sitem.herts.ac.uk/aeru/ppdb/index.htm).
Reference values i.e. values for the most toxic substance are user defined (e.g. highest value of the sample or reference values from the Danish model).
To calculate application application-/farm- specific Load values, information on the applied pesticide product and the applied amount of pesticides is needed.
For the calculation of the Pesticide Load, two empty Excel sheets are provided (Table_R_substances.xlsx, Table_R_products.xlsx). To calculate the Load values, the above mentioned data has to be filled into the Excel sheets (using the corresponding columns). The data can then be read in and the Load indicator can be computed, using the provided R file (AECP_Load_computation.R).
Following, we describe in detail which data is needed for the computation of the Load indicator – to use the R-code fill in the information corresponding with the column name in the Excel sheet and use the R file (AECP_Load_computation.R) to read in the information and compute the indicator.
